- Hyde Park
- The largest of London's Royal Parks, Hyde Park has been open to the public since 1637. The park is home to a number of grass-roots sports clubs, including the hardy members of the Serpentine Swimming Club, who can be seen swimming in the Serpentine Lake whatever the weather - even on Christmas Day.
Address: Hyde Park lies just to the west of London's West End, within easy walking distance of the IOC Accommodation in the top-class hotels of Mayfair. One of London's most popular recreational areas, Hyde Park is easy accessible of foot, by bus and is served by half a dozen tube stations.
- Lord's Cricket Ground
- Lord's is best known as the home of cricket - but in 2012 it would be the home of Archery. The ground is home to stunning examples of both traditional and modern sporting architecture, as the famous Victorian pavilion is faced by the ultra-futuristic NatWest Media Centre.
Address: Lord's Cricket Ground is located in the fashionable St John's Wood area, close to the Road Cycling venue in Regent's Park.
- Millennium Stadium
- Built to replace the famous Cardiff Arms Park rugby stadium, the Millennium Stadium has quickly become established as one of Europe's premier sporting venues. As well as hosting international rugby matches - including the 1999 Rugby World Cup final - the ground has provided a popular home for FA Cup, Charity Shield and Football League playoff fixtures.

- Old Trafford
- One of the most famous football grounds in the world, the 'Theatre of Dreams' is home to Manchester United. The 68,000 capacity stadium has hosted England's major international fixtures while building work on the new Wembley is being completed, and the capacity will be expanded to 75,000 by 2012.

- Olympic Park
- The Olympic Park lies at the heart of London's plan to host the most compact Games of all time. The Park will include the main Olympic Stadium, the Olympic Village, the Aquatics Centre, the Velopark, and multi-sport arenas.
Address: The Olympic Park will be built on a 500-acre site in the Lower Lea Valley, just six kilometres from Tower Bridge.

- The 80,000 seat Olympic Stadium will host the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the Athletics.

- Regent's Park
- One of London's famous Royal Parks, the Regent's Park has been open to the public since 1845. As well as being home to London Zoo and the Open Air Theatre, the park is a much-loved sports venue for thousands of Londoners - facilities include a running track, golf centre, tennis courts and boating lakes, as well as Football, Rugby, Cricket and Softball pitches.
Address: Regent's Park lies just to the north of London's West End, just a 15 minute walk from the shops of Oxford Street. The park is home to London's world-famous Zoo, the Outdoor Theatre and Regent's Park will host the Road Cycling events at the 2012 Games.
- Royal Artillery Barracks
- The London port of Woolwich has a long military association, with references to the ordnance at Woolwich dating from the 15th century. Construction of the current Royal Artillery Barracks buildings began in 1776, and at its peak the barracks and ordnance employed 80,000 people.

- St James' Park
- Football-mad Geordie crowds have been flocking to St James' Park since 1892, and the atmosphere at the home of Newcastle United rivals any football ground in the world. The ground dominates the Newcastle skyline from its perch on top of a hill right in the heart of the city.
